We take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains how Punjabi Font Converter (the "Add-in") handles your data. In short: we don't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information.

Punjabi Font Converter is a Microsoft Word add-in that helps you convert legacy Punjabi fonts (Asees, Anmol) to proper Unicode Gurmukhi script. The entire conversion process happens locally on your computer.

• No analytics: We don't track how you use the add-in
• No cloud storage: Your documents never leave your computer
• No servers: We don't have backend servers that receive any information

3. Permissions We Request

The add-in requests only one permission from Microsoft Word:

• ReadWriteDocument: This lets us read your document text and apply conversions. This is necessary for the add-in to work. The permission is limited to the one document you're editing.

We do NOT request access to:

• Your email or contacts
• Your OneDrive or other files
• Other Microsoft 365 services
• The internet (except to load the add-in interface initially)

3a. Private Distribution Model

Important: This add-in is distributed via a private manifest download from Cloudflare Pages, not through public GitHub or the Microsoft Store. This means:

• Controlled Distribution: You download the manifest.xml file directly from a secure Cloudflare Pages link
• Open Source for Verification: While distributed privately, the code is available on GitHub for transparency and security review
• No Distribution Tracking: We don't track who downloads the manifest or installs the add-in
• No Auto-Update: You must manually download new versions when available (updates are user-initiated, not automatic)

4. How Your Data Stays Private

What happens when you convert text:

1. You click "Convert" in the add-in
2. The add-in reads your document text from Word (stays in Word)
3. Conversion algorithms run on your device
4. The converted text is written back to your document
5. That's it. Nothing leaves your computer.

5. Offline Support

The add-in works completely offline. You don't need an internet connection to use it. Once installed, it works without any network communication.

6. Security

• The add-in is open-source — you can read all the code on GitHub
• The add-in is distributed via Cloudflare Pages with private manifest delivery (not public GitHub)
• No credentials or passwords are required
• No API keys or authentication tokens are used
• The code is static and doesn't change during execution

7. What Microsoft Collects

Microsoft Word and Office 365 have their own privacy policies. This add-in does not affect how Microsoft collects data. For more information about Microsoft's data practices, see:

8. Third-Party Services

We don't use any third-party services for analytics, tracking, or data processing. The only external resource is:

• Font Awesome CDN: Used only to load the add-in icon from a Content Delivery Network. This is a static image file with no tracking.

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed.

10. Microsoft Compliance

This add-in follows Microsoft's requirements for Office Add-ins:

• Complies with Microsoft Partner Network Terms of Use
• Complies with Microsoft Office Store policies
• Does not contain malware or spyware
• Does not attempt to escalate permissions
• Is open-source and transparent

11. Your Rights

Since we don't collect any personal data, most data privacy regulations don't apply. However, you have the right to:
